No. 9 New Milford softball handed No. 4 Brookfield its first loss, 6-5, on Wednesday.
The Green Wave were led by star junior Cienna McNamara, who set the tone with a leadoff home run. Sophomore also Lydia Rocky added a two-run homer to give New Milford an early lead.
A go-ahead bases-loaded walk to Lillian Fortier in the seventh proved to be the difference.
