FTC Presents: Thundersmack on StageOne with special guest opener Jackson Whalan!
Unleashing a sonic whirlwind straight from the heart of New York City’s vibrant musical landscape, Thundersmack is the brainchild of two extraordinary musicians, Michael Wilbur and Leo P. Fusing the gritty energy of NYC subways with inimitable style, Thundersmack promises a musical experience that is as infectious as it is unforgettable. Thundersmack delivers a sound that’s gritty yet fun, both energetic and motivating. With a repertoire designed to make you dance until you drop, the band injects each performance with a dose of high-octane musical adrenaline. Their synergy on stage is palpable, creating a live experience that’s nothing short of magnetic.
Jackson Whalan is a recording artist and producer from Western Massachusetts who creates music to uplift and inspire listeners worldwide. He is known for his high-impact rapping, music production, and live performance. Recent collaborations include working with Hip Hop legend KRS-One and touring throughout the United States as direct support for the band Moon Hooch. He has been consistently releasing music, including LPs, EPs, singles, and features, and his songs have gotten placements in All American (Netflix), Xfinity, Reebok, Champs, and more. Jackson was born and raised in Berkshire County, on the western edge of Massachusetts. There were very few examples of hip-hop artists from his rural hometown, but the music made its way into his life when he found CDs that belonged to his older brother. Inspired at age 11 by artists like De La Soul, The Fugees, Eminem, and Nas, Jackson forged a path not previously traveled by anyone from The Berkshires. When Jackson discovered the power of hip-hop, things were turbulent at home, at school, and in the world. He was waking up to issues of race, class, politics, human rights, and climate change. His music became the vehicle for addressing injustice and inspiring people to make a difference. Jackson’s live show is full of thought-provoking songs, beats, and live instrumentation. The highlight is often when Jackson freestyle-raps topics from the crowd, which makes for an unforgettable experience.
