Entirely Designed, Stones Cut, & Hand Fabricated by myself. Platinum 950 Fused to 18k Gold, a new technique for me, featuring 6.9tcw Untreated Bi-Color Sapphire from the Biashara Mine in Kenya, with 1.4tcw VVS Diamonds to accent. This set is now part of ‘Somewhere In The Rainbow’ Collection!
This has been an ongoing project since Tucson of 2025. I saw this incredibly unique sapphire rough visiting New Era Gems with a stripe of yellow shooting through the stone, and Steve was gracious enough to leave the stone with me to create with. To capture this zoning, I sliced the stone perfectly in half, cutting cabochons to showcase the beauty within.
After sitting with the stones, with many design iterations, I spent the next few weeks fabricating, trying a new technique of fusing platinum and gold together without using solder. Mixed size pavé diamond setting accents the sapphires, with the backside finished with ajouré cuts, framing each stone.
