Canton star wins heptathlon, Fitch star wins decathlon in CIAC Track & Field finale

Canton’s Kayla Berning won the heptathlon, and Fitch’s Jacob Smith won the decathlon in the CIAC track and field season finale. In the heptathlon, Berning never finished lower than ninth in any of the seven events. She closed out her title-winning performance with a victory in the 800 meters.
