In this episode of our Situation Series, we’re looking at a scenario where the goalie is defending against a player driving down the outer lane, while also needing to be aware of another attacker heading hard down the slot.

In our last “Situation 3” discussion, we covered backchecking basics. It’s crucial for defensive players to know who is covering each attacker to ensure no one is left open in the defensive zone. Teams that prioritize strong communication and coverage in the defensive end are consistently in a better position to win games!
