A driver who fled a traffic stop in Hartford Wednesday night was tracked and located with assistance from CSP Air-One, leading to a foot pursuit and arrest.
🔹 Troopers from Troop H – Hartford attempted to stop a silver Nissan Altima on I-91 southbound near Exit 27 after observing the vehicle driving erratically.
🔹 As Troopers approached the vehicle on the exit ramp, the driver took off at a high rate of speed, fleeing the stop.
🔹 CSP Air-One, already airborne at the time, immediately located the fleeing vehicle and tracked it from above through Hartford, calling out real-time directions to units on the ground.
🔹 The vehicle eventually stopped behind a residence on Laurel Street, where Troopers boxed it in.
🔹 The driver fled on foot, but Air-One continued tracking, assisting Troopers in making a quick arrest.
👤 Arrested:
Assawni Hoilett, 28, of Hartford
• Admitted to consuming alcohol and marijuana prior to driving
• Did not successfully complete field sobriety testing
• Held on $50,000 bond
📋 Charges Include:
• DUI
• Reckless Driving
• Misuse of Registration
• Interfering With an Officer
• Additional motor vehicle charges
Hoilett was processed at Troop H and transferred to DOC custody pending court at Hartford Superior Court on 11/13/25.
