When you’re a twin, you learn quickly about being a teammate. And the best teammates grow to care about each other like they do themselves. Twins understand twins. Darien High School seniors Ryan and Chris Thurlow are CIAC state champion athletes and close friends with another set of Darien twins – Jeremy and Miles Clark. They met back in elementary school and remain close to this day. Jeremey and Miles live with Dravet Sndyrome, a severe genetic form of intractable epilepsy that begins in the first year of life. It is a rare condition, and exceptionally rare for twins to have. In September the Thurlows organized a Dravet Syndrome awareness walk (raising $19,000) and serving to further introduce the Clark Brothers to the Darien community as Ryan (a top 60 lacrosse recruit nationally) and Chris prepare to move out of state for college. This is a story of a mother’s love, her unfailing sense of humor, play dates, Mr. Softee, and the Power of True Friendship. https://dravetfoundation.org
