🚨Preliminary Status Report Regarding the Use of Deadly Force by the Stamford Police Department on December 2, 2025 and the Death of Jed Parkington🚨🚨WARNING LOUD GUNFIRE AND ADULT LANGUAGE!! VIEWERS DISCRETION IS ADVISED!!🚨
In accordance with General Statutes §51-277a(a)(5), 1 Inspector General Eliot D. Prescott submits this preliminary status report regarding the use of deadly force by the Stamford Police Department on December 2, 2025. During this incident, Jed Parkington, a white male, age 63 died.
According to our preliminary investigation, on December 2, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a Connecticut State Marshal arrived at a residence located at 263 Oaklawn Avenue to evict the homeowners following the foreclosure of their mortgage. The State Marshal encountered Parkington’s wife and her dog in the driveway of the residence.
The Marshal and Parkington’s wife then walked to the rear entrance to the home.
Jed Parkington came to the door and pushed his wife back outside, stating “take her someplace safe, this is not going to end well.”
The Marshal observed that Jed Parkington was wearing a military uniform shirt with Nazi insignia on the collar. He was also wearing a utility belt with attached items that the Marshal believed might include explosive devices.
The Marshal retreated to the front of the home and called the Stamford Police Department and reported what she had seen during her encounter with Jed Parkington.
Stamford police officers were then dispatched to the residence and informed that Jed Parkington owned one or more registered firearms. Upon arrival, the officers attempted to contact Jed Parkington inside the house without success.
After concluding that the suspect may be armed and had barricaded himself in the home, Stamford’s Hostage Negotiation Team and Special Response Team (SRT) were dispatched to the scene.

A negotiator was able to communicate with Parkington by telephone but was unable to persuade him to exit the house peacefully.
During this period, the Stamford Police Department obtained a search warrant for the home and an arrest warrant for Parkington.
At approximately 12:34 p.m., members of the Special Response Team approached the residence in two Bearcat armored vehicles. One vehicle drove directly up to the front door of the residence and, over a loudspeaker, an SRT officer announced to Parkington that he was under arrest and ordered him to come out of the house with his hands up.
Parkington then began to fire multiple rounds at the Bearcat vehicles, both of which sustained damage and were forced to retreat for officer safety.
During the afternoon hours, the SRT attempted to use non-lethal flash bangs and other means to end the stand-off. Parkington again fired on police officers outside and, on several occasions, shot down drones deployed by the SRT to ascertain Parkington’s location in the house.
A still shot taken of Parkington’s attempt to shoot down one of the drones is seen in the video released to the public.
Three police officers during these events fired their department-issued firearms at
Parkington: Lieutenant Jose Alvarez; Captain Christopher Baker; and Sergeant Matthew Romano. Two of the officers discharged their weapons from the Bearcat in which they were riding, and one officer discharged his firearm from a tactical position taken up on a porch of a nearby residence. These officers wore a camera on their helmets during the incident.
That video depicts both the officers in the Bearcat discharging rounds at Parkington and the Bearcat taking additional fire from Parkington. (In videos released to the public.)
At approximately 3:35 p.m., law enforcement officers heard a single shot come from inside the residence.
Shortly thereafter, it was reported that a drone was flown into the house and Parkington was observed with a single gunshot wound to the head and appeared to be deceased.
The drone footage also revealed the presence of grenades, a pipe bomb and other improvised explosive devices inside the home. The Stamford bomb squad then began the process of rendering the home safe to enter. In doing so, human remains were discovered in a room across the hallway from where Parkington’s body was located.
Emergency Medical Personnel eventually were able to safely enter the home and confirmed that Parkington and the other individual were deceased.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner also performed an autopsy of the other human remains.
The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be “blunt impact injuries of head and torso with gagging” and the manner of death to be a “homicide.” As of the date of this report, the identity of the remains has not been conclusively determined and a death certificate is not available.
Grenades and other Pipe Bombs also found inside the home.
Investigation is on going.
