Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors couldn’t keep up with Lyman Hall and fell 11-1 on Wednesday.
Lyman Hall got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after A Rich singled down the right field line, Quinn singled to center field, Morrison doubled down the left field line, and Remilard flew out, each scoring one run.
Lyman Hall added one run in the second. Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors committed an error, making the score 5-0.
Lyman Hall extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI walks by Rich and Laffin.
Remilard earned the win for Lyman Hall. The hurler allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking none. Damion Montillas took the loss for Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors. The starter went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking seven.
Number nine hitter, Aiden Casillas, showed the depth of Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in two at bats.
Laffin, Rich, D’Amico, and Morrison each drove in two runs for Lyman Hall. Morrison went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lyman Hall in hits. Lyman Hall had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Casey and E Rich led the team with two bases on balls each. Rich stole two bases. Lyman Hall stole four bases in the game.
