Xavier defeated Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors 19-3 on Friday thanks in part to 15 runs in the second inning.
Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors got on the board in the first inning after Zavion Mcrea singled, scoring one run.
Xavier took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the first thanks to two ground outs.
Xavier scored 15 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. Loria tripled, scoring one run, Semenza doubled, scoring one run, Rosa doubled, scoring two runs, Lopez singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Ferrara doubled, scoring one run, Loria doubled, scoring two runs, #45 was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, #41 doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored two runs.
Dylan Tabaka earned the win for Xavier. The pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. Janiel Montero took the loss for Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors. The pitcher went one and one-third innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking four.
